Different Types of Pet Games Available Online

For those of you wondering what the hype is all about surrounding pet games online, they are the latest genre of free arcade game available to play free online. So many games have been developed for this particular genre; they are now divided into categories according to their theme, and general plot. In order to be considered a pet game, certain aspects of the game would need to agree with the adopted characteristics of pet games in general. There are two basic categories of pet games players are likely to come in contact with online. The traditional type comprised of the usual pets of the domestic kind, such as cats and dogs. On the other hand, there are the nontraditional pets, made up of fictional creatures out of someone’s imagination. This type of pet game involving fictional creatures is also known as virtual pet games.
On one hand, the design and overall game play of virtual pet games resembles that of the popular mmorpg, or massive multiplayer online role playing game. The characteristics in these games which set them apart include fictional animal creatures they call pets, a virtual world comprised of towns and villages with maps and inherent locations the player can enter and interact. Players that visit the hosting site for the first time need to create an account and configure the pet of their choosing, who will become his presence in this virtual world. These games are so large, they cannot be completed in one day, they are not meant to be completed that fast either. Once registered and roaming around the virtual world, gamers can proceed to do the usual task, such as feeding their pet, and buying items to make them stronger and less vulnerable. However, these things cost money. Thus, the payer will have to engage in rewarding activities to gather some money in order to feed his pet. There are also some battle scenarios in which players engage each other in battle in order to increase hit points and strength. Most virtual pet games are free to register, but once you get going and develop a desire for one of the higher quality items, you will need to put up some cash in order to keep up.
The other major categories of free pet games online are the traditional type, featuring your usual domestic cat and dog, perhaps a rabbit or a guinea pig. These are not meant to last more than twenty minutes of game play at the most. They are free to play in many arcade websites with a pet game category. Within these traditional titles, common themes include veterinarian clinics, pet care centers, and walking the dog in the park. In a clinic the player plays a veterinarian who takes care of the animals as they come in the door. With lots of detail of what a real clinic would look like these games are lots of fun. There is also the pet care center, in which you, as the care taker, would need to keep the pets happy until the owner comes back for them. Among many other themes there is also the walk in the park, in which the player needs to guide his companion amidst a number of obstacles. Due to the popularity of pet games online, more and more variations come out each day seeking to satisfy the demand of pet lovers all over the world.
